Thailand has its fair share of floating markets, even Hua Hin floating markets are styled on the popularity of the Damnoen Saduak floating market.

This lively market, steeped in tradition, is not only for tourists but also for the locals to sell and purchase their wares. Longtail boats make their way up and down the narrow canals advertising their produce such as fruits, fresh vegetables and noodles.

The market itself is around 100 kilometers southwest of Bangkok which is just over an hours drive north of Hua Hin.

It’s always best to book an excursion with a reputable travel agent as there are plenty of scams around trying to overcharge tourists.

If you plan your own trip then you can hire your own boat for a few hundred baht and paddle your way around the stalls taking in the sights in your own time.

Prices are a little high for visiting tourists but you can always haggle the vendors if you like.
