Hua Hin Airport
Hua Hin Airport runs short haul national and international flights. Sometimes
Hua Hin is a small airport, about 15 minutes drive north of Hua Hin town center. Over the years it has run both domestic and international flights but presently it is mainly used for private planes and training courses.
There used to be a weekly flights to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and a regular shuttle service to Bangkok. Unfortunately both these services have now been suspended until further notice and the only flights using the airport at present appear to be private ones.
SGA Airlines used to operate a daily shuttle service to/from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International (BKK) airport. A small Cessna Grand Caravan with a total of 36 seats was used and the flight only took 30 to 45 minutes. With the upgrading of the highway between Hua Hin and Bangkok the time taken to drive to Bangkok was reduced significantly. It now takes around 2.5 hours to drive to the airport by the convenience of a taxi or 3.5 hours in the comfort of the hua hin airport bus.
When flights resume then check-in time is 35 minutes before departure. Hua Hin airport (HHQ) is very small with only one gate and a small waiting area so there’s no point in arriving very early for flights.

There is a domestic flight available between Hua Hin and Chiang Mai operating three times per week.
Hua Hin Airport Private Use
Hua Hin airport is predominately used for private flying. Hua Hin is also the home of the Civil Aviation Training Center further North from the airport. They operate around 30 aircraft, the majority of which are single engine “Diamond” trainers.
