If you have a few hours to spare and would like to try something a little different then pop over to Baan Sillipan and check out the galleries and even try you hand at painting yourself.

This small art village is a welcome retreat to artists from all over Thailand to come and focus on their art-form. Spending their days creating and showcasing new original works. From woodcarving and glass sculptures to water and oil paintings there is a wealth of artwork on offer if you wish to purchase something to brighten up your home or take back as a souvenir.

Drawing and painting classes are available to those that would like to dabble. Baan Sillipan is a great place to visit if you have small kids. You can purchase canvases, plaster sculptures and various boxes and ornaments that your children can then paint and decorate themselves.

Artists Village follows an environmentally friendly philosophy and you’ll even find some fine examples of clay and straw huts to explore.

With a small stage on site there is often live Jazz on Saturday and Sunday nights during the season.

So if you’d like to feel inspired and maybe pick up a few nice canvases then it’s worth paying a visit.

Hua Hin Artist Village is located a short 10 minute ride from the center of town, just head west out of town in the direction of Pala-U waterfall.
